Birds in Wall Cavity

During the course of a water loss in this commercial building it was discovered that there had been birds nesting in the void between the walls.

Although this is a real annoyance for people and impacts on day to day life what is a real concern is the contamination and damage caused by birds nesting. Birds will bring a huge amount of debris to their intended nesting area. Nesting materials and feces along with the possibility of dead chicks in the nest is not only foul smelling but can also cause a secondary insect infestation.

In this instance the birds were dead as they had been trapped for some time. SERVPRO of Benicia/Martinez/Southeast Vallejo removed the nest and materials. We carefully decontaminated and disinfected the area ensuring it is free from bacteria.
