Water Damage Photo Gallery

Ceiling with all affected dry wall torn out.

From Start to Finish ... Step 2

Our next step after scoping out the affected area is to bring in equipment to help dry down and we demo all of the affected areas. In this case, the ceiling area. Notice in this photo that all of the stained ceiling is now torn out. This is a very important thing to do because 1, it helps dry the area quicker. 2, it prevents long term damage such as mold forming or the ceiling falling out slowly but surely. Take a look at step 3 to see what our next move is.

Staining on ceiling due to a water leak.

From Start to Finish ... Step 1

Step 1 after leak has been fixed; call SERVPRO! That is exactly what the owner of this commercial building in Benicia was thinking. We came in and saw what you see in this photo, staining caused by the water that leaked throughout the ceiling. That means a lot of that ceiling is no good. So, we got to work! Take a look at step 2 to see what our next step is.

Wet Carpets

If you experience a leak in your home and your carpets get wet, make sure to get that dried up as soon as possible. The longer a carpet stays wet such as the one in this photo, it can seep into the pad underneath, therefore leaving you no other option but to get new carpet. If you keep the old pad and carpet it could be the start of a mold problem, and no one wants that. So, give us a call right away so we can try and help save your carpet which will also save you money!

Check Your Refrigerators

Water loss can come from all sorts of things inside and outside of your home. 1 common cause of water loss in a home is from a refrigerator believe it or not. No one thinks a little bit of dripping water will cause damage. This could be true if you get the leak fixed before it seeps into the floors or baseboards. If that happens then your floor could begin to rise or mold can begin to grow in the baseboards. So take a look at the fridge here and there, make sure there are no leaks, if there are, get them fixed before you have bigger problems.

Plumbing Under Sink

LOSS PREVENTION AND MAINTENANCE TIPS

• Inspect plumbing beneath sinks every 6 months.

• Ensure connections are secure and there is no evidence of corrosion on the pipes.

• Look for kinks in copper or plastic pipes. These could lead to pinhole leaks over time.

• Locate the water shut-off valve.

• Inspect the valve every 6 months to make sure the water supply will shut off. Replace the valve if needed.
